Dogs attack schoolboy in Subhanpura

Vadodara: A 5-year-old boy was bitten by a pack of dogs in Subhanpura area on Wednesday morning, injuring his leg and other parts of his body. The CCTV footage went viral Thursday, prompting action from the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC).The boy, who lives in the Gorwa-Subhanpura area, was walking with his grandmother but briefly left her to join two schoolmates walking a few steps ahead. During those few seconds alone on the road, a dog first charged at him, followed by others, attacking him.His father, Dr Gopal Gondaliya, said the boy frequently used the same route to school without incident, though a teacher informed him that another child had been attacked by a dog about two months ago. The boy suffered a deep leg wound and minor bites elsewhere. He was treated, vaccinated, and given painkillers.Following the viral video, VMC teams captured a black dog believed to have initiated the attack. The dog will be kept in isolation at the VMC shelter home for observation and will be released back if deemed non-aggressive.
