In order to promote all religion-prosperity and social harmony in the society, the “Chief Minister Group Marriage Scheme” has been run by the state government from October 2017, under which matrimonial programs are organized according to the customs of various communities and religions. The objective of the scheme is to eliminate unnecessary performance and wastage in marriage celebration.
The families of all sections coming under the annual income limit are covered under the scheme.
There is also a system of marriage of widows, abandoned, divorced women under the scheme.
In this scheme, for the establishment of prosperity and household in married life, grant of Rs 35,000/- in the account of Rs 35,000/- and purchasing the necessary materials for marriage ceremony like clothes, nettle, anklets, utensils etc. It is provided and there is a system of spending an amount of Rs 6,000/- on the wedding event of each couple. In this way, there is a system of total amount of Rs 51,000/- on the marriage of a couple under the scheme.
Arrangements have been made for the Urban Body (Nagar Panchayat, Nagar Palika Parishad, Municipal Corporation), region panchayat, registration at the district panchayat level and mass marriage organizing on minimum 10 couples.

Eligibility for Marriage Scheme:-
The Government of Uttar Pradesh has determined some essential eligibility criteria to avail this scheme, on the basis of which the eligible married couples will be provided the benefit of this scheme which are as follows –
To apply under the scheme, the parents of the girl should be native to the state of Uttar Pradesh.
The financial form of the parents of the mother’s mother or the mother of the girl should be weak and poor.
The total annual income of the girl’s family to apply should be less than Rs 2,00,000.
In order to take advantage of the scheme, the age of the girl should be 18 years or more in the married couple and the age of the boy should be 21 years or more.
Under this scheme, girls and all such women who are widows or divorced will be eligible for their marriage or remarriage.
Under this scheme, destitute girl, daughter of widow woman, daughter of disabled guardian or girl who are disabled will be given priority under the scheme.
