Soori hails Jason Sanjay’s humility at ‘Sigma’ event, recalls recalls two-and-a-half-hour script session, says ‘I felt like I was with Vijay Anna’

Soori has praised Jason Sanjay at the trailer and audio launch of ‘Sigma’, recalling the two-and-a-half-hour narration of the film that he received from Vijay’s son around one-and-a-half years ago. The actor said Jason’s approach and presence reminded him of his father, actor Vijay, and described the young filmmaker’s humility as one of his standout qualities. Soori also urged Jason to consider acting alongside pursuing his directorial career.

Speaking at the ‘Sigma’ trailer and audio launch, Soori recalled meeting Jason Sanjay at Lyca Productions’ Tamil Kumaran’s office around one-and-a-half years ago. He said Jason narrated the film’s script for nearly two-and-a-half hours without a break, an experience that reminded him of Vijay.“When I came to Tamil Kumaran sir’s office one-and-a-half years ago, you narrated the Sigma script for two-and-a-half hours at a stretch. Those two and a half hours literally felt like I was talking to Vijay Anna. I felt like I was with my Appa,” Soori said.His comparison to Vijay became one of the notable moments of the evening as he reflected on Jason’s narration and the impression he had made during their first meeting.

Soori praises Jason Sanjay’s humility

Soori also spoke about Jason’s humility and his decision to focus on filmmaking despite suggestions that he should also take on the lead role in his debut project.“People say Soori is humble. If Soori goes with a group, that is when there is a problem; if I remain humble, there is no problem!” he said.He then turned his attention to Jason and praised him for remaining committed to his directorial responsibilities.“But you being humble is a big thing. One-and-a-half years ago, you narrated the Sigma story for two-and-a-half hours, and you did not even flinch,” Soori added.The actor also recalled telling Tamil Kumaran that Jason’s appearance reminded him of Vijay and suggested that he consider acting in a film at some point.

Soori urges Jason Sanjay to act alongside directing

Soori went on to express confidence in Jason’s journey as a filmmaker while encouraging him to explore acting as well.“You must definitely succeed as a director. But sometimes, you should also act as a hero,” Soori said.He continued to draw parallels between Jason and Vijay, particularly when discussing the young filmmaker’s screen presence. ‘Sigma’ stars Sundeep Kishan, Faria Abdullah, Sampath Raj, Raju Sundaram, Shiv Panditt, Anbu Thasan, Yog Japee, Mahalakshmi, Sheela Rajkumar, Kamalesh and Kiran Konda in key roles.Jason Sanjay is making his directorial debut with the Tamil-Telugu bilingual, which has music composed by Thaman, cinematography by Krishnan Vasant and editing by Praveen KL. Action choreography is handled by Venkat and Silva.The film is scheduled to release in theatres on October 2.
