Jammu: A meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (M) Jammu and Kashmir Dr. Arvind Karni to review the ongoing development works in migrant camps in Jammu. In the meeting, Deputy Commissioner (Relief) Vijay Kumar Sharma, Assistant Commissioner (Relief) Dr. Deepak Kumar, Chief Accounts Officer Shivani Bhan, Assistant Commissioner (Relief) Kailash Devi, Assistant Commissioner (Relief) Sanjeev Kumar, Executive Engineer PW (R&B) Department Jammu Sunil Thusu and PW (R&B) Department and Relief Organization officials attended. The Executive Engineer PW (R&B) department informed about the progress of the works going on in migrant camps i.e. Pravasi Camps Jagati, Pravasi Camp Nagrota, Pravasi Camp Muthor and Buta Nagar and Pravasi Camp Purkhu. They were directed to expedite the completion of sanctioned repair and renewal works.
In the meeting, it was decided to constitute a work monitoring committee under the chairmanship of the Camp Commandant, along with representatives of the local residents to give priority to repair/renewal works. It was decided in the meeting that, “Work will be done in order of priority set by this committee and payment will be issued to contractors only after receiving satisfactory work perfection certificate from this committee.” In addition, site engineers were instructed to take pre-performance of each task, during execution and post-execution photos. PW (R&B) officers were directed to expedite submission of detailed project reports of comprehensive repair/renewal works in all migrant camps, in relation to which estimates have already been completed so that these works have already been completed during the financial year 2025-26. The amount required to start can be estimated on time. The Executive Engineer assured to complete the ongoing works on time and closely monitor the quality of the work being executed.
