The three-day IREC 2026 conference at HITEX in Hyderabad brought together over 2,000 real estate professionals, developers, investors, policymakers and technology leaders from more than 35 countries.

Hyderabad turned into a global meeting point for the real estate sector as the 7th International Real Estate Conference (IREC 2026) brought together more than 2,000 delegates from over 35 countries at HITEX from September 25 to 27.The three-day conference, hosted by the Hyderabad Realtors Association (HRA) with the National Association of REALTORS®–India (NAR-India) as a strategic partner, brought developers, institutional investors, realtors, policymakers, technology leaders and property professionals onto a common platform.The event brought together the Global Conference, IREC Luxury Property Expo and Innovation Showcase, with discussions spanning institutional investment, changing buyer behaviour, branded residences, holiday homes, affordable housing, real estate tokenisation, cross-border transactions and the growing role of PropTech, artificial intelligence, data and DeepTech.India housing market remains resilient

India’s housing market remains resilient

The India Housing Report – September 2026, launched at IREC 2026, valued primary housing sales across Tier-I cities at ₹3.63 lakh crore in H1 2026.

One of the key highlights of the conference was the launch of the India Housing Report – September 2026, prepared by NAR and CRE Matrix. Based on H1 2026 data, the report put the value of primary housing sales across India’s Tier-I cities at ₹3.63 lakh crore, broadly unchanged from the record level recorded in H1 2025.According to the report, 2.58 lakh housing units were sold during the first half of 2026, a decline of around 2% year-on-year, while new launches rose about 7% to 2.98 lakh units.The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) remained the largest housing market, accounting for around 26% of pan-India housing value, followed by NCR at 19%. MMR recorded approximately ₹93,800 crore in primary housing sales.Navi Mumbai and Raigad recorded 29% growth in housing value, with volumes rising around 20%, while Bengaluru recorded 25% growth in housing value and accounted for approximately 17% of the national housing value.Global perspectives come to HyderabadIREC 2026 featured participation and perspectives from markets including the US, Dubai, Philippines, Georgia, Canada, Japan, Mongolia, China, Korea, Taiwan, Cambodia, Indonesia and Vietnam.The discussions focused on strengthening India’s integration with global real estate markets, attracting institutional and international investment, facilitating cross-border transactions and exploring the creation of a more connected global real estate marketplace.

IREC 2026 inaugurated by Dubai Land Department official, NAR president​

Majid Saqer Al Marri of Dubai Land Department inaugurated the International Real Estate Conference (IREC) 2026 in Hyderabad.

The conference was inaugurated by Majid Saqer Al Marri, Real Estate Registration & Services, Dubai Land Department, while Kevin Brown, President, National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), inaugurated the IREC Luxury Property Expo.Hyderabad in the global real estate conversationFor Hyderabad, the conference provided a platform to examine the city’s real estate growth against the backdrop of international investment, urbanisation and technology-led transformation.Speaking at the inauguration, Sumanth Reddy, Chairman, NAR-India, said the real estate sector was changing faster than the traditional transaction cycle, with increasingly informed buyers, more global capital flows and technology reshaping the way business is conducted.
