Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended the public meeting on the last day of the 57th annual conference of All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) in Dotma, Kokrajhar, Assam today. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief Pramod Boro were also present at the event. On the third day of the conference, many cultural and social programs took place, including debate, literary competitions and sports events.
ABSU founder member Surath Narjari’s book ‘All Bodo Students Union and Bodoland Movement History – 1967–1993’ was also released. Assam cabinet minister Urkhao Gwar Brahma said that now it is the responsibility of the youth to carry forward the identity and development of the Bodo community. He emphasized on strengthening education, cultural institutions and leadership, so that the future of Bodoland could be further bright.
