Lucknow/Gautam Budh Nagar: Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) signed by India are opening up new international avenues for UP’s manufacturers and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), state Industrial Development minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi said on Sunday.Speaking at UPITS, Nandi stated that the mega event embodies the rapid emergence of a ‘New Uttar Pradesh in a New India’ while calling UPITS a “critical bridge between local industry and the global marketplace.”“Our state is home to more than 10 million MSMEs, bolstered by world-class expressways, top-tier connectivity, and a vast pool of skilled youth,” Nandi said.“India’s bilateral trade pacts and FTAs provide the exact leverage our entrepreneurs need to integrate directly into global supply chains and scale up outbound shipments.”The minister noted that UPITS has created direct market access for grassroots producers, including One District One Product (ODOP) crafts, agriculture, processed food, textiles, leather, and high-tech electronics.With trade delegations and buyers arriving from nations including Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, Russia, Austria, and Belarus, Nandi affirmed that local artisans and heavy manufacturers are now competing on equal footing in overseas markets, driving the state’s multi-billion-dollar economic push.
