But one woman’s recent video shows that in some parts of the city, the traffic problem can follow you right up to the gates of your own residential society.A Bengaluru woman shared a video showing cars lined up inside a residential complex on a Saturday afternoon, claiming that it took residents around 30 minutes just to get out.The woman, who posts on Instagram as @her_wandering_footprints, recorded the scene from her room while pointing towards a nearby residential society. The video shows a steady line of cars on the road outside, along with several vehicles moving slowly inside the complex.And this was at around 2 pm on a Saturday.
‘Half an hour just to get out’
In the video, the woman first shows viewers the traffic visible from her room before zooming in on the vehicles inside the neighbouring society.She says, “In my last video, I showed you how my society looks like. So, this is the view from my room. Right now it’s 2:00 in the afternoon, guys, and look at the traffic outside, at 2:00 pm on a Saturday!“And inside this society, as you can see, these small cars that are visible, this traffic is inside the society. Just to get out, you have to stand in traffic too, and it took people half an hour just to get out of the society. So, this is the negative point of this society.”The clip offers a rather unusual glimpse of Bengaluru’s traffic problem. While the city’s notorious congestion is generally associated with major roads and daily commutes, the video suggests that even getting out of a large residential complex can sometimes turn into a wait.Of course, the video shows one location and one particular moment, so it doesn’t establish how common such delays are across Bengaluru’s residential societies.
