Lucknow: Annadata farmers like Yogi. Due to the farmers, the Yogi government broke its previous year record in paddy procurement. 3.90 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was procured in the year 2024-25, than the previous year. Last year, 53.80 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was procured, while this year it increased to more than 57.70 lakh metric tonnes. At the same time, the Yogi government also paid more than 99 percent of the farmers. This figure is more than 13326 crores. The support price of paddy was fixed at Rs 2300 and grade A Rs 2320 per quintal. From last year this year, farmers were given more MSP at Rs 117 per quintal.
Paddy was procured wildly for the year 2024-25. More than 57 lakh 70 thousand metric tonnes of paddy has been procured from eight lakh farmers. By the last year (2023-24), 5380032.83 metric tonnes of paddy was procured till this period. More than 3.90 lakh metric tonnes have been purchased this year as compared to the previous year.
Payment of more than 13326 crore to farmers
Paddy procurement took place rapidly under the supervision of the Yogi government. 5770671.09 MT of paddy has been procured from 7,98,731 farmers at 4339 purchasing centers in the state. In lieu of this, the government has also paid more than Rs 13326.357 crore to the farmers. That is, farmers have been paid more than 99.537 percent. Paddy procurement is being paid continuously to farmers.
Paddy support price
The government had fixed the support price of paddy Rs 2300 and grade A Rs 2320 per quintal. Farmers were also reimbursed at the rate of Rs 20 per quintal in the item of paddy unloading, slaying and cleaning. In all the districts of Uttar Pradesh, a total of 4339 purchasing centers of Food and other purchasing agencies have been set by farmers for the sale of paddy. This year, paddy was also sold by the sharecrop farmers while registration-registration.
Paddy procurement in these districts
Paddy was procured in western Uttar Pradesh from 1st October to 31 January. Paddy was also procured in Bareilly, Moradabad, Saharanpur, Agra, Aligarh, Meerut, Jhansi, Jhansi and Lakhimpur Kheri of Lucknow divisions in western UP. Paddy procurement started in eastern Uttar Pradesh from November 1, which lasted till 28 February. Paddy was purchased smoothly in Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Basti, Devipatan, Azamgarh, Varanasi, Vindhyachal, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Chitrakoot and Lucknow divisions in Lucknow, Rae Bareli and Unnao districts of East UP.
