Lucknow: UP Congress leader C P Rai on Thursday criticised BJP for holding celebrations to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday while several parts of the country, including UP, are facing floods and other crises.Rai alleged that govt was celebrating even as flood-hit districts including Gorakhpur, Amroha, Ghazipur, Gonda, Ballia, Lakhimpur Kheri, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Rampur and Moradabad were witnessing disruption, with people being forced to move to safer places.Rai said govt’s priority should be the safety, relief and justice of citizens rather than birthday celebrations. He demanded steps to restore peace in Manipur, provide relief to flood victims, act against illicit liquor networks and contain inflation.
