Lucknow: Cloudy skies and light showers brought some relief to residents on Tuesday from humid conditions.Light drizzle was reported in several parts of Lucknow from the morning, while the sky remained cloudy throughout the day. Evening showers further eased the discomfort and made it more pleasant for commuters.Rainfall recorded from 8:30 am on Monday to 8:30 am on Tuesday showed Aliganj recording the highest rainfall in Lucknow at 26.2 mm, followed by Hanuman Setu at 6.6 mm. Malihabad and Mohanlalganj received 2.5 mm and 2.1 mm, respectively, while Lucknow airport recorded 1.4 mm of rainfall.Relative humidity remained high between 80% and 94%. The maximum temperature hovered around 30.4 degrees Celsius, 3.3 degrees below normal, while the minimum temperature stood at 27.4 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal.The weather department has forecast overcast skies with rain and thundershowers across the city over the next two days.Mohammad Danish, senior scientist at the Regional Meteorological Centre at Lucknow, informed that a monsoon trough line is passing from central and eastern UP, which is resulting in a rain spell across the region.Across the state, Azamgarh recorded the highest rainfall at 180 mm, followed by Varanasi at 128 mm and Sonbhadra at 120 mm.The weatherman’s forecast for the state is that rain and thundershowers are likely at a few places in west Uttar Pradesh and many places in the east.
