Charles Spencer has hit back at Buckingham Palace after the Palace issued a rare response to a claim in his new memoir about the days following Princess Diana’s death.
And Spencer didn’t hold back.
In an interview with ABC News’ Maggie Rulli, Diana’s younger brother said he was “really upset” by the Palace’s response and accused King Charles of “gaslighting” him.
“Well, it’s not every day you’re gaslit by a king, but I was really upset with that because I thought it was very, not only condescending, but not straight,” Spencer said.
He added: “What I said is straight and true. And what did they come back with? That. It doesn’t say he didn’t say it either. That’s what I found interesting. I was really shocked, actually.”
The comments came after Buckingham Palace responded to an excerpt from Spencer’s memoir, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, which was published ahead of its September 22 release.
