The five -match series between Australia and West Indies starting from July 21, 2025, is going to begin in Sabina Park, Jamaica. Mitchell Owen scored a century in 39 balls in BBL
Mitchell Owen played a 108-run innings in 42 balls against Sydney Thunder in the final of BBL 2024-25 on 27 January this year. In this innings, he hit 11 sixes and completed a century in just 39 balls and made a record of one of the fastest centuries in BBL. This bang performance not only gave Hobart the first BBL title, but also made Owen into the headlines on the global stage. His innings made him contract in South Africa’s SA 20, Pakistan Super League (PSL), and Major League Cricket (MLC).
Disappointment in IPL, then returns to MLC
Mitchell Owen was included in his team by Punjab Kings in IPL 2025, but he failed to leave impact here. In the only match against Rajasthan Royals, he was dismissed without opening an account in two balls. However, he did not give up and performed brilliantly for Washington Freedom in MLC 2025. He was elected the most valuable player (MVP) of the tournament with 313 runs and 14 wickets in 11 innings. The performance caught the attention of the Australian selectors and got it in the first T20 against the West Indies.
