Ahead of polls, UP Cong opens dialogue with active, former workers

Lucknow: In the run-up to the 2027 state elections, AICC in charge for UP Rajendra Pal Gautam will hold a direct dialogue with party workers and associates at the Congress office here on Sept 20.An internal communication has invited both active and former members to walk in and speak to Gautam, besides sharing their concerns and suggestions. The interaction will be held between noon and 4 pm.Gautam, who is also national president of the AICC Scheduled Caste Department, said the initiative was aimed at bridging old differences and reconnecting with people who had been associated with the organisation but may have become inactive for various reasons. The outreach assumes significance as the Congress seeks to strengthen its organisational network across the state and rebuild its connect with workers at the grassroots ahead of the 2027 polls. Direct interaction with active and inactive workers is also expected to help the party identify organisational gaps and bring more people into its election-related groundwork. In his appeal, Gautam said the Congress had been built on the sacrifices and dedication of millions of workers and that their experiences and concerns needed to be heard. The meeting is being positioned as an open interaction where workers can directly share their thoughts, suggestions and grievances with the state in charge. The exercise is expected to give the party feedback on issues concerning its organisation and workers on the ground as it prepares for the 2027 electoral battle.
