Lucknow: District magistrate Vishakh G visited the waterlogged localities of Faizullaganj to review relief operations and interact with affected residents on Wednesday. He directed officials to ensure uninterrupted relief and rescue efforts, saying the safety and convenience of citizens should remain the administration’s top priority. The district administration is currently operating 52 boats in the affected areas to transport residents and deliver essential supplies.Four relief camps have been set up, while health department teams are distributing medicines and providing medical assistance to prevent the outbreak of waterborne diseases.Police have also intensified night patrolling in vulnerable areas, and a control room is monitoring the situation round the clock, including coordinating snake and wildlife rescue with the forest department.According to the irrigation department, water levels at upstream stations in Sitapur have fallen steadily, indicating that the flood wave is passing. While the Gomti continued to rise marginally in Lucknow on Wednesday evening, officials said the river remained stable through most of the day and is expected to start receding within the next 12 to 24 hours, which should gradually improve the flood situation in the city.
