LUCKNOW: A woman and her daughter were injured after three men allegedly attacked their car with bricks and stones while they were on their way to school in Jagatpur area of Raebareli on Wednesday morning.Following the incident, police registered an FIR against three named accused and several unidentified persons and detained three people in connection with the attack.According to police, a video of the incident came to their notice on October 7, following which an inquiry was launched.The investigation found that Riddhima Singh, wife of Mohit Singh, a resident of Mudwa village under Jagatpur police station, was taking her daughter to school in a car at around 7 am when the incident took place.Police said Ritesh Mishra, 30, son of Ramesh Mishra; Ayush Mishra, 23, son of Ramesh Mishra; and Shivam Kumar Mishra, 27, son of Awadhesh Kumar Mishra, all residents of Mudwa village, allegedly attacked the car’s windows with bricks and stones.Riddhima Singh and her daughter, who were inside the vehicle, sustained injuries in the incident, police said.A video of the attack, which surfaced on social media, shows people allegedly pelting the car with stones. The footage also purportedly shows a man striking the vehicle’s windshield with a stone.The incident caused panic as the woman and her daughter were reportedly trapped inside the vehicle during the attack. The viral video prompted police to take immediate cognisance of the matter and initiate action.Police said all three persons allegedly involved in the incident were taken into custody soon after information about the attack was received.On the basis of a written complaint submitted by Riddhima Singh, wife of Kunwar Mohit Singh, Jagatpur police station registered Case Crime No 147/2026 under Sections 191(2), 109, 115(2), 131 and 324(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).The FIR names Ritesh Mishra, Satyam Mishra and Shivam Mishra as accused, besides four to five unidentified persons. Police said further legal proceedings are underway.Circle officer Girja Shankar Tripathi said three accused had been detained and that the viral video and other evidence were being examined as part of the investigation.Jagatpur SHO Vagish Mishra also confirmed that the matter was under investigation and that action would be taken against anyone found responsible.Police said the role of the unidentified persons named in the FIR was also being examined. The exact circumstances leading to the confrontation are yet to be established.According to police, the situation in the area is currently peaceful and adequate measures have been taken to maintain law and order.
