Lucknow: Lucknow district magistrate Vishakh G on Sunday visited several rain affected villages in Mohanlalganj tehsil, including Sikhanapur and Kanjikheda, to assess crop damage caused by the recent heavy rainfall.During the inspection, he interacted with farmers to understand the extent of losses and reviewed the situation on the ground.The DM directed Mohanlalganj sub-divisional magistrate Akash Singh to constitute survey teams in coordination with village pradhans to conduct a detailed assessment of crop damage in every affected village. He instructed officials to ensure that the survey reflects the actual extent of losses. The administration was also directed to assess damage to houses and livestock during the survey and process compensation and financial assistance as per govt norms wherever eligible.Vishakh further instructed all sub-divisional magistrates to expedite the survey through joint teams of the revenue and agriculture departments. Officials have been asked to remain in the field and complete the assessment at the earliest so that relief measures can be initiated without delay.
