‘Laalo’ twist: Vijay Deverakonda, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun being considered separately by different producers for Gujarati hit’s Telugu remake

The Gujarati devotional blockbuster film ‘Laalo: Krishna Sada Sahaayate’ released last year in the news for its Telugu remake and as per latest developments it is currently being discussed with Tollywood several production houses. The movie which hit the big screens in 2025 became the highest grossing Gujarati film of all time with a worldwide collection over Rs 120 crore.

‘Laalo’ Telugu remake in multiple discussions

According to Variety India, three to four production houses are in talks to partner with the original team for the Telugu adaptation. Amid the reports that Vijay Deverakonda has replaced Ram Charan as Lord Krishna, both actors are reportedly being considered separately by different producers. No casting or production deal has been finalized yet.

Vijay Deverakonda and Ram Charan in separate talks

The report further suggests that renowned filmmaker Dil Raju is reportedly in preliminary discussions with Vijay Deverakonda to play Krishna in the Telugu remake. The character was played by Shruhad Goswami in the Gujarati original.At the same time, producer Mahaveer Jain is reportedly pitching the project with Ram Charan being considered for the role of Krishna. Jain is also said to be discussing the role of the rickshaw driver with Allu Arjun.It must be mentioned that the original team is expected to select its production partner within the next month. The Telugu cast and crew are expected to be formally decided after that.The film has also received interest from the Hindi film industry. However, the makers have consciously decided not to pursue a Hindi remake for now because of the story’s strong regional setting and texture.

Makers on ‘Laalo’ receiving remake interest

Recently, an ETV Bharat report shared that producer Jay Vyas has confirmed that ‘Laalo’ has attracted interest from several regional film industries. “I am in talks with three to four producers, including for different languages, so nothing has been finalized yet. Discussions are still underway,” he said.It is reported that they are in conversations with makers from the Telugu, Tamil, Punjabi and Odia industries.

About ‘Laalo’

Directed by Ankit Sakhiya, ‘Laalo: Krishna Sada Sahaayate’ was reportedly made on a budget of around Rs 50 lakh. The film went on to mint over Rs 122.25 crore worldwide collection.
