Lucknow: A marathon interrogation of key accused Ravi Kishan Sharma, involving over 100 questions, repeated confrontation with CCTV footage and crime scene visits, has given investigators fresh leads in the murder of NGO operator and property dealer Dhirendra Pratap Singh.Police said the 24-hour custody remand of Ravi, who worked as Dhirendra’s driver, yielded crucial information about the alleged mastermind, the shooters and the source of the weapon used in the crime.DCP South Mohammad Mushtaq said teams were acting on the leads generated during the questioning and more arrests were expected soon.Ravi was taken out of jail around 10am on Tuesday and questioned at Sushant Golf City police station till the end of his remand on Wednesday morning. Officers said he initially tried to mislead investigators but his version began to crumble after he was confronted with CCTV footage tracking his movements around the time of the murder.During over 12 hours of questioning, Ravi disclosed details of the conspiracy, identified those involved in the execution of the killing and revealed where the weapon was dumped after the crime. Police are now preparing a recovery operation to trace the firearm.Police took Ravi to key locations linked to the case, including the stretch before Kisan Path where Dhirendra was shot and the canal near Amethia village in Dubagga where his body was dumped. He was confronted with CCTV footage from multiple locations visited during the probe.Police believe the disclosures have widened the investigation beyond the four accused arrested so far. Police and STF teams have launched raids in Bahraich, Barabanki, Unnao and Rae Bareli to trace the shooters and other conspirators.Dhirendra, a native of Rajepur village in Unnao, lived in Lucknow’s Vrindavan Colony. So far, police have arrested Ravi, his wife Pooja, brother Jaikishan and friend Omkar in the case.
