Zimbabwe (ZIM) are all set to host Ireland (IRE) in the second T20I of the three-match series, at the renowned Harare Sports Club, in Harare, on Sunday, February 23.
The first T20I between the African nation and the European side ended without a result due to incessant rain. After a two-hour delay, the game was shortened to nine overs per side. Ireland, opting to bowl first, made early breakthroughs as Craig Young dismissed Brian Bennett and captain Sikandar Raza in the second over. The Chevrons were struggling at 11/3 in three overs, but Ryan Burl, smashed 36 off 18 balls, including two fours and three sixes. Tashinga Musekiwa (10*) and Wessly Madhevere (11*) contributed valuable runs as Zimbabwe posted 77/5 in nine overs.
Josh Little and Young claimed two wickets each, while Graham Hume picked up a sole wicket. As Ireland were looking to start their run chase, the rain played spoilsport and the match was abandoned. Both teams will now focus on the second T20I, which is scheduled for the next day at the same venue, though the weather forecast remains concerning.

Harare Sports Club Pitch Report
The Harare Sports Club track has stayed dry even recently. Historically, the pitch has been tricky for batters in the first half but tends to improve as the game progresses, making it easier for chasers. Captains winning the toss would likely opt to bowl first, taking advantage of the initial challenges before the pitch eases out for shot-making in the latter stages.
