Patna: A youth sustained a bullet injury in the head at Dighi Paschimi Ward No. 3 under Sadar police station area of Vaishali district on Saturday evening. Two bike-borne miscreants allegedly opened fire at Manish Kumar (24), son of Umesh Thakur and a resident of Keshopur village under Lalganj police station limits.After locals alerted police, a team reached the spot and rushed him to Hajipur sadar hospital. Following initial treatment, doctors referred him to Patna for advanced care due to his critical condition.Sadar SDPO Subodh Kumar said police recovered two empty cartridges of a 7.65 mm pistol from the spot. “Preliminary inquiry suggests a love affair as the likely motive behind the attack. We are also examining the angle of personal enmity linked to the relationship dispute,” he added.Police have reviewed CCTV footage from the surrounding area and said the attackers have been identified. “Raids are underway at suspected locations,” the SDPO said.
