Youth killed in clash during dad’s post death ritual in Mahoba

Kanpur: A youth was stabbed to death and six relatives were injured in a clash during a post death ritual in Mahoba’s Leva village under Ajnar police station on Monday night.Police have registered an FIR against two named accused and six unknown persons. Three police teams have been formed to arrest the accused.Ramkripal, a resident of Leva village, died due to illness. His terhavi rituals were underway on Monday evening when some people, in intoxicated state, started abusing at Shiv temple intersection near the house. Ramkripal’s son Vikas (18) and other family members reached the spot and objected.Angered over this, the goons started beating them. Accused Sahab Singh attacked Vikas with a knife. The accused also beat up Vikas’s brother Aakash, uncle Surjan, and cousins Anil, Pradeep and Jeetu and then fled the scene.All injured were taken to the district hospital, where doctors declared Vikas dead. Anil was referred to Medical College Jhansi in a critical condition, while treatment of the remaining injured continued at the district hospital.After receiving information, CO Kulpahar Ravikant Gond and CO Sadar Arun Kumar Singh reached the district hospital and took details of the incident. On a complaint filed by Vikas’s uncle Sundarlal, police have registered an FIR against Ajay Singh of Leva village, Sahab Singh of Kanera village, and six unknown persons. The CO said that 3 teams have been formed to arrest the accused.Station officer Subhashchandra said an investigation was underway and the report was registered based on the complaint. A police force remained deployed in the village.
