Yogi Adityanath govt announces university, medical college for UP's Shahjahanpur; zari zardozi, industry see growth

NEW DELHI: The Yogi Adityanath government in UP on Friday announced a medical college named after Ram Prasad Bismil and approval for the historic Swami Shukdevanand College to be upgraded into a university over the past nine years Shahjahanpur.“Special attention is being given to law and order. During public hearings, victims receive immediate assistance. The district administration remains in action mode round the clock,” said district magistrate Dharmendra Pratap Singh.Moreover, the district’s traditional zari zardozi craft has been promoted under the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme, leading to increased production and exports to markets including Dubai and Saudi Arabia, with artisans reporting higher monthly incomes and expanded employment, an official release said.According to the statement, the 100-bed hospital attached to the medical college is operational, industries are providing local employment, and government schemes such as the Vishwakarma Yojana and initiatives involving women as “Drone Didis” are being implemented, while the administration states that law and order and public grievance redressal are being monitored.
