YEIDA eyes Japanese investments in Yamuna City | Noida News

Noida: In a bid to invite investments at the proposed Japanese City in Sector 5A, Yamuna Authority officials will meet representatives of Japanese companies in Delhi on Friday. The officials said the blueprint of the dedicated city will be presented to them and the investment opportunities will also be highlighted at the meeting.Proposed to be developed over 395 hectares in Yamuna City, the area will be an industrial and residential hub tailored to the needs of Japanese companies operating in India.The meeting will be held with representatives of the Japan External Trade Organisation. YEIDA officials said Japanese entrepreneurs will be briefed on sector-specific investment opportunities, including artificial intelligence and semiconductors, green hydrogen, solar energy and automobile.“The objective is to create not just an industrial zone, but a complete living ecosystem,” an official said. The proposed city will include housing, schools, hospitals and other social infrastructure to offer a familiar environment to professionals working in the area.The entrepreneurs will be briefed on the incentives and subsidies for investments in the YEIDA region. The officials will seek feedback from the companies on plot sizes, land use and infrastructure. The inputs might be incorporated into the detailed project report. YEIDA will also use the meeting to showcase major infrastructure projects in Yamuna City, including the airport, the proposed Film City, the Buddh International Circuit and the Medical Device Park.Investment prospects linked to the Medical Device Park will also be discussed, particularly opportunities for technology exchange and collaboration with Japanese companies.

The delegation will be briefed on YEIDA’s broader planning framework, including master planning, cluster-based industrial development, multimodal connectivity and govt support schemes.Talks had already been held with Medical Excellence Japan (MEJ). Officials said efforts are underway to attract major Japanese firms to the Medical Device Park as well.In preparation for the project, a YEIDA team visited the Japanese industrial zone at Neemrana in Rajasthan in Dec to study its development model. Officials examined land allotment processes, zoning, administrative support systems and infrastructure standards related to logistics, power, water and utilities.Neemrana, located in Alwar district, is widely regarded as India’s first dedicated Japanese industrial hub and has attracted significant investment, particularly in the automobile and high-technology sectors.
