Yashraj Singh tops from Assam in JEE-Main with 99.98 percentile

Guwahati: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Monday released the results of Paper 1 (BE/BTech) of the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2026 Session-1.The examination was conducted across 658 centres in 326 cities, including 15 abroad, in January.

Out of 13,55,293 registered candidates, 13,04,653 appeared — a remarkable 96.26% turnout. Twelve candidates scored a perfect 100 percentile.From the northeast, Assam state topper Yashraj Singh scored 99.9811354 percentile.The toppers of other northeastern states are Adriraj Saha (Tripura) who scored 99.8611562, Aiman Tanish (Arunachal Pradesh) scored 99.7366348, Vishnu Bhardwaj Upadhyay (Meghalaya) scored 98.9615457, Clinton Akoijam (Manipur) scored 98.8584081, Khushi Sah (Nagaland) scored 94.5171782 and Lallung Muana Khelte (Mizoram) scored 90.3855086.The NTA noted that the final rank of the candidates will be released taking into consideration the best of the two NTA scores, after both sessions.
