The flagship Xiaomi 15 series was launched in China in October 2024 but they are yet to expand to global regions like India. However, the Redmi brand introduced its latest Note 14 series in India, including the budget Redmi 14C. Now a new leak suggests that the company is gearing up to introduce the Xiaomi 15 series or the Redmi 14 5G in India.
Xiaomi 15 series or Redmi 14 5G India launch
- Tipster Abhishek Yadav citing a source says that Xiaomi is planning to launch its Xiaomi 15 series or the Redmi 14 5G in the Indian market in February.
- Xiaomi 15 series in China includes the vanilla Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro but isn’t clear whether both models will be launched in India or will it be the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
- For context, Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra launched in India in March 2024, with the brand skipping the Xiaomi 14 Pro in the country.
- Xiaomi 15 Ultra is confirmed to debut in China and global markets next month i.e. February. While details regarding the India launch are not explicitly mentioned yet, the phone already bagged the BIS certification.
- In case if it is the Redmi 14 5G that is launching, it seems to be arriving much ahead of the July 2024 launch timeline of the Redmi 13 5G.Â
- If the leak indeed pans out, we can expect the brand to start teasing the arrival of the phones on its social media handles soon.
Not much else is known about the Redmi 14 5G at the moment but it should be placed slightly above the Redmi 14C 5G, which starts at Rs 9,999 for the base model in the country. The Redmi 13 5G launched at Rs 13,999.
On the other hand, the Xiaomi 15 series ships with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, up to 2K display, 50MP triple cameras, an IP68 rating, and 90W wired fast charging. The Ultra model could also feature the same chipset but may have quad-camera sensors.
The Xiaomi 15 price in China starts at CNY 4,499 (approx Rs 53,500), while the Pro model costs CNY 5,299 (around Rs 63,00). For comparison, the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Ultra launched in India at Rs 69,999 and Rs 99,999, respectively.
