Varanasi: A sex racket operator allegedly created obscene videos of a woman and threatened her with dire consequences after suspecting she was behind the police tip-offKotwali police station in-charge Daya Shankar Singh said that based on the woman’s complaint, a case was registered under section 351(3) (threatening) of BNS. He said that the matter was being investigated and appropriate legal action would be taken against the accused soon.The case is linked to a sex racket busted 12 days ago in Azad Nagar Colony under the Cantt police station area, where police arrested a woman in a raid, while the main accused fled.The complainant, from Kotwali police station area, alleged the Cantt police arrested a woman while her husband fled. Since then, his family has been mentally harassing her, calling her an informer, after her tip led to the accused’s arrest during the sex racket bust.She also alleged that the absconding accused uploaded several of her private videos on social media platforms, which damaged her social image, and she was under severe mental stress.Additionally, the accused’s parents continuously threatened to defame her and implicate her in false cases by claiming that the police raided their house because of her, she added. tnn
