Woman dies, six injured in Jamui accident
Tragedy struck in Jamui district as a speeding truck collided with an e-rickshaw carrying devotees to the Ganga for a holy dip. One woman died instantly, and six others, including the driver, were critically injured. The truck driver fled the scene. Local authorities are actively searching for the absconding driver and investigating the incident.

Patna: A woman died on the spot, while six others were seriously injured after a speeding truck collided with an e-rickshaw in Jamui district Sunday morning. All were going to take a holy dip in the Ganga river on the occasion of Maghi Purnima.The passengers were going from Gharsanda village to Simaria ghat in Begusarai district. The accident occurred near Katauna village in Malaypur police station area.

According to police, the deceased was identified as Chanchala Devi (50), a resident of Gharsanda village. The injured were identified as Dukhni Devi (60), Daya Devi (60), Kari Devi (60), Sajni Devi (35), Manju Devi (45), and e-rickshaw driver Pintu Tanti (26).The truck driver fled after the accident.All the injured were taken to Sadar Hospital, Jamui, with the help of local people. Considering the serious condition of driver Pintu, he was referred to Patna for better treatment.One of the injured, Daya Devi, said: “The accident took place while we were going to take a holy dip in the Ganga river.”Upon receiving information, Malaypur police station personnel reached the spot and started a probe into the matter.Malaypur SHO Shekhar Saurav said: “Efforts are on to identify and apprehend the truck driver.”
