Woman ‘abducted’ by husband in Narnaund, case filed

Hisar: A case has been registered after a married woman, who was living in a live-in relationship with a young man from Narnaund, was allegedly abducted by her husband and his associates. The accused also allegedly assaulted the woman’s partner, and threatened him with dire consequences. According to the police, the incident came to light following a complaint filed by Monu, a resident of Gurana village in Hansi district. Acting on the complaint, Narnaund police registered an FIR against Nripendra, Nitesh and Pradeep, residents of Dhigawan village in Bhiwani district; Sonu and Pradeep of Gurana village; and 4 to 5 unidentified persons under Sections 115(2) (causing hurt), 190 (common object of unlawful assembly), 191(2) (rioting), 140(3) (abduction), 324(4) (mischief) and 351(3) (criminal intimidation) of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita. An investigation is under way.

In his complaint, Monu stated that he works as a welder and was living in a live-in relationship with Shashi, the wife of Nripendra, since Jan 16. He said that the couple also stayed in a safe house in Hisar from Jan 19. During this period, Nripendra lodged a missing person report regarding Shashi at the Loharu police station. Police later recorded Shashi’s statement, during which she allegedly refused to go with her husband. Monu stated that he returned to his village, Gurana, on Jan 30. He alleged that on Feb 2, around 3.30 am, Nripendra arrived along with Nitesh, Pradeep, Sonu and Pradeep. “The accused allegedly scaled the boundary wall and entered the house. They assaulted Monu, and forcibly put Shashi into a car,” said a source. The complainant also alleged that the accused threatened to kill him if he attempted to contact or meet Shashi in the future. Police said raids are being conducted to trace the accused, and further investigation is in progress. MSID: 127910412 413 |
