Gorakhpur: The Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board will organise a one-day seminar on Environmental Challenges Alongside Development: Collective Efforts for Sustainable Growth at Mahyogi Gorakhnath University (MGUG) on Tuesday.The seminar will feature noted environmentalist and Ramon Magsaysay Award winner Rajendra Singh, popularly known as India’s ‘Waterman’, as the chief guest.Sharing details, board chairman RP Singh said besides the inaugural session, two key panel discussions have been scheduled. One panel will focus on biomedical waste management, while the other will deliberate on circular economy and sustainable development. Experts and stakeholders are expected to engage in detailed discussions on environmental conservation, pollution control, waste management practices and strategies to ensure sustainable development amid rapid urban and industrial growth.Officials said the seminar aims to encourage collaborative efforts among policymakers, academicians, industry representatives and environmental activists to address emerging ecological concerns while maintaining the pace of development.
