Prayagraj: District project officer (Namami Gange) from Prayagraj, Aesha Singh, has been invited to New Delhi as the special guest for Republic Day Parade- 2026 for making outstanding and sustained contributions in conservation, rejuvenation, cleanliness, community awareness, and prevention of environmental pollution of the Ganga. The National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, govt of India, selected Aesha as a ‘Water Warrior’.Aesha worked on public awareness in the field of Ganga conservation for many years and trained rural youth of the villages along the Ganga, making them aware of cleanliness, water conservation, and environmental responsibilities. She transformed the Namami Gange project from a mere govt initiative into a people’s movement. Her efforts ensured the active participation of women, youth, and the transgender community. Social participation was strengthened through inclusive programmes like ‘Nadi Utsav’ and ‘Ganga Utsav’.During the Maha Kumbh-2025 event, the Namami Gange exhibition, public awareness rallies, and campaigns conducted under Aesha’s leadership instilled a sense of responsibility towards the Ganga among millions of devotees from India and abroad.
