The truck was reportedly travelling from Haryana to a factory in Rudrapur when the driver lost control. The vehicle went off the road and overturned, sending the ghee it was carrying onto the road.The accident also slowed traffic in the area as people gathered around the overturned truck.Some locals started collecting the spilled ghee. Others simply watched or filmed the scene.Police eventually arrived and dispersed the crowd. The truck was then removed and the road cleared, after which traffic movement returned to normal.There were no reports of injuries or fatalities in the accident.
Social media asks: ‘Why are they collecting it?’
The unusual scramble for the spilled ghee soon became the main talking point online.“This is probably the most unexpected thing I’ve seen today,” one person commented.Another questioned the decision to pick up ghee from the road, writing, “That’s what lack of education does. They are willing to collect ghee off the dirty road and eat it.”“There has been an accident, yet people are busy collecting ghee… At such a time, humanity and helping others should come first,” another user wrote.A third person was more blunt about the hygiene concerns.“Ewww, they are collecting ghee fallen on the road, it’s just disgusting, I don’t know how they will manage to eat and put that unhygienic ghee in their food,” the user commented.Another person wondered what would happen to the ghee after it was collected.“Ye sab ghee ka karenge kya?
