He urged citizens to collectively pledge to march towards the goal of Viksit Bharat @2047, drawing inspiration from Netaji’s ideals of courage, unity and supreme dedication to the motherland. Netaji was born in Cuttack on Jan 23, 1897.The vice-president hoisted the national flag at Netaji Birthplace Museum and offered floral tributes at Netaji’s statue. He inaugurated the philately gallery showcasing rare postage stamps and postal memorabilia related to the Indian National Army (INA) and visited other galleries highlighting Netaji’s life and role in India’s freedom struggle. A special stamp was also released on the occasion.Radhakrishnan also inaugurated a special exhibition on Netaji organised by the ministry of culture at the interpretation centre of the Netaji memorial. During the programme, a video message featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s reflections on Netaji, delivered from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, was screened. Three delegates, including INA personnel were felicitated for their contribution to the nation.The vice-president further inaugurated the newly-constructed District Culture Bhawan near the museum complex. He lauded chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi for initiatives focused on tribal welfare. “The Odisha government has taken commendable steps to uplift tribal communities and integrate them into the mainstream of development,” he said.
