Following the massive success of ‘Dhurandhar’, Ranveer Singh is reportedly being considered for director Shankar’s ambitious historical project, ‘Velpari’. Based on S. Venkatesan’s novel, the film chronicles the life of the ancient Tamil ruler Vēl Pāri. Singh, along with Tamil star Vikram, is rumored to be in contention for lead roles in this highly anticipated, big-budget endeavor.
Ranveer Singh is being eyed for director Shankar’s ‘Velpari ’
According to Mid Day reports shared recently, Ranveer Singh is already prepping for his next big role after ‘Dhurandhar.’ Shankar, who is best known for his work in ‘Game Changer,’ is all set and ready to start working on his next project, which has been titled ‘Velpari.’ According to the reports, both Ranveer Singh and Tamil star Vikram are being considered for the lead roles of the film. In 2021, Singh and Shankar were alleged to work together on ‘Anniyan’, the film never happened, making this a much anticipated project amongst fans. No official confirmation has come from the actors or directors; however, ‘Velpari’ is being labeled as Shankar’s dream project. It is also set to have a large budget as well, further raising anticipation amongst netizens.
About Shankar’s upcoming film ‘Velpari’
The story and premise of ‘Velpari’ have been based on S. Venkatesan’s historical fiction novel titled ‘Veera Yuga Nayagan Velpari.’ The novel is based on the life of Vēl Pāri, a Velir ruler of Parambu Nadu during the Sangam period in ancient Tamilakam. It follows the events of his life and how the Chera, Chola, and Pandya empires attempted to overthrow the tribal king.
