Vehicle caught transporting animal skin

Kanpur: A pickup vehicle carrying skin of dead animals was seized by police at Shivrajpur. Locals alerted the police when they found the vehicle in a damaged condition near Shivrajpur toll plaza with red colour flowing out of it. Thana Shivrajpur police reached the spot and found the vehicle was loaded with skins of dead animals. The two persons present in the vehicle identified themselves as Mohammad Rehan son of Mallu and Rajababu son of Shabid, residents of Gopamau, district Hardoi.During questioning, both persons stated that they had a contract to collect skins of dead animals and they were taking these skins to Kanpur. When asked for relevant valid documents or permission letters, they could not produce any valid papers. ADCP West Kapil Deo Singh said, “A veterinary officer was called to the spot and necessary sampling was done. Other necessary legal proceedings were underway in the matter.“
