The underpass at Mansa Devi Complex, Sector 5, Panchkula, is being transformed with vibrant wall art as part of a citywide beautification drive under the Smart City community outreach initiative.

Led by Principal Anju Mehta of Dass & Brown school, who has volunteered for the project, “the volunteer-led effort aims to revive and celebrate India’s cultural diversity by bringing traditional and contemporary artwork onto public walls for everyday appreciation.” The project is being executed by the institute’s faculty and students, progressing gradually and thoughtfully rather than hurriedly, ensuring creativity and quality in every phase.

Beyond the underpass, the initiative will extend to berms, parks, roundabouts and public spaces, with landscaping, regular upkeep, and the installation of statues and sculptures to enhance the city’s aesthetics. With approvals from Haryana’s HSVP, the Municipal Corporation and PMDA, the community-driven programme also hopes to expand into Chandigarh, creating a unified visual identity across the Tricity region.
