Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has released its annual examination calendar for 2026, outlining the schedule for major competitive recruitment exams. Compared to previous years, the new calendar is significantly more extensive, covering examinations spread across 81 days, with 24 days kept in reserve to accommodate possible adjustments.According to the calendar, the 4-day PCS 2025 Main Examination is scheduled to begin on Mar 29 while the PCS 2026 Preliminary Examination is tentatively fixed for Dec 6. The commission also announced the date for the Assistant Teacher Trained Graduate (LT Grade) 2025 computer subject preliminary exam, which is proposed on Apr 5. The examination cycle for the year will commence with the Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer (RO/ARO) Main Examination 2023, scheduled for Feb 2 and 3. This will be followed by the Computer Assistant (UPPSC) examination 2025 on Feb 6. The Architecture and Planning Assistant (mains) 2024 is proposed for Feb 24. Further, the Staff Nurse Unani (male/female) preliminary exam 2025 is scheduled for Mar 17, with the main examination proposed on Jun 17. The Assistant Prosecution Officer (Pre) 2025 will be held on Mar 22, while its Main is slated for Jun 28, 29 and 30. The Uttar Pradesh Technical Education (Teaching) Service Examination 2025 for the post of Principal is proposed on Apr 9. The commission clarified that all announced dates are tentative and may be revised depending on administrative or logistical circumstances. The calendar does not clearly specify the status of the Block Education Officer recruitment examination, leaving aspirants awaiting further clarification. In a significant development, UPPSC also announced the long-awaited examination dates for the Assistant Professor Recruitment preliminary examination 2025 and the third phase of the Additional Private Secretary (APS) recruitment 2023. The Assistant Professor preliminary exam for govt colleges will be held on May 31 while the APS 2023 third-phase examination is scheduled for June 7. For the first time, the Assistant Professor recruitment process will include both preliminary and main examinations. Earlier, selections were conducted through a screening test followed by interviews, with final merit largely determined by interview scores. This system drew criticism and allegations of bias in the past. The introduction of a main examination is expected to strengthen merit-based assessment and enhance transparency. The commission said aspirants can follow the official website of UPPSC for further details.
