February 2026 is set to see several carmakers launch or unveil new models across segments, as companies push to gain early-year momentum. The month is expected to feature a mix of updated mass-market vehicles, new SUVs and premium offerings, with many of these launches bringing changes in design, features, technology and powertrains. With competition tightening across price categories, the upcoming launches are likely to influence purchase decisions in the coming months. Here’s a closer look at the new car launches lined up for the second month of the year.MG Majestor First on the list is the MG Majestor SUV, which will make its debut on February 12, 2026. The Majestor was first showcased earlier at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo, where it made its public debut. The MG Majestor is a heavily refreshed iteration of the Gloster, but it will be positioned as a more premium offering above it. There is currently no clarity on whether both models will coexist in the lineup. The three-row, ladder-frame SUV features a comprehensive overhaul from the inside out.
In terms of design, the SUV features a large, imposing grille, sleek headlights mounted on the bumper, and LED DRLs. The side profile highlights its premium stance with 19-inch alloy wheels, while the rear is marked by new connected LED tail-lights and a more sophisticated bumper design, giving the SUV a refreshed and modern appearance. The interior details haven’t been revealed yet, but it’s expected to get dual-tone upholstery and a fully digital instrument cluster, a larger free-standing infotainment system, a wireless charger, a panoramic sunroof, a Level 2 ADAS suite, automatic three-zone climate control, powered, ventilated, heated front seats, LED headlights, fog lamps, LED taillights and more.Mechanically, the MG Majestor is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, producing 163 hp and 375 Nm in the 4×2 variant, while the 4×4 version is likely to offer higher outputs of 218 hp and 480 Nm. The SUV is also expected to feature differential locks, along with dedicated switches to toggle between 2WD, 4WD, and a low-range 4WD mode.BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport ProThe second car is a new BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro SUV which will be launched in the Indian market on February 16, 2026. The Pre-bookings are already underway. Interested customers can book the SUV online or by visiting their nearest BMW dealerships. The SUV will be locally manufactured at BMW’s Chennai facility and deliver higher performance than the variants currently on sale, while continuing to take on rivals such as the Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5 and Volvo XC60.
The BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine which puts out 258hp and 400Nm torque. The engine comes paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels. The engine also gets a 48V mild hybrid assist and is capable of a 0-100kph sprint in 6.3 seconds. It has a claimed fuel efficiency of 14.61kpl. The new BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro will be the most powerful SUV sold in the Indian market. The current X3 range in India includes the 190hp xDrive 20 petrol and the 197hp xDrive 20d diesel. Both variants are sold with the M Sport package, while the upcoming 30 xDrive will also feature the M Sport Pro trim.The upcoming BMW X3 30 xDrive features updated exterior styling marked by sharper design elements and a more pronounced road presence. Key visual updates include an illuminated kidney grille, bigger 20-inch wheels, and the M Sport Professional package, which adds sportier design elements and additional features. The new BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro will also introduce a fresh Brooklyn Grey exterior shade, joining the existing Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Tanzanite Blue and Dune Grey colour options.The SUV retains features offered on other X3 variants, including a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a head-up display (HUD), a head-up display, a 15-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, wireless phone charging, a panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate, powered and ventilated front seats with memory function and more.Volkswagen Tayron R-line Next is the Volkswagen Tayron R-line SUV, expected to launch sometime in February 2026. The new Tayron will sit at the top of Volkswagen’s India lineup, positioned above the Tiguan R-Line. For buyers considering a seven-seat SUV with a German badge and a more premium positioning, the Tayron R-Line emerges as a new option to consider. Built on the MQB EVO architecture shared with the Tiguan R-Line, the Tayron R-Line gets the same 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 204 hp and 320 Nm of torque. The engine comes paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox, which sends power to all four wheels. The same engine also does the job in the Tiguan R-line.
The Volkswagen Tayron R-Line will arrive in India via the CKD route, a move that should help keep pricing competitive. The SUV is likely to be priced between Rs 45 lakh and Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom). The local assembly of the Tayron R-line is underway at the company’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar plant. Once introduced, it will take on rivals such as the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, the upcoming MG Majestor, Jeep Meridian and the Skoda Kodiaq in the Indian market. Skoda Kushaq faceliftNext is the Skoda Kushaq facelift, which will be launched sometime in February 2026. Pre-bookings for the SUV have already begun. Interested customers can book the new Kushaq online or by visiting the nearest dealership. This marks the first facelift for the Kushaq since its debut in 2021 and features cosmetic changes on the outside, a tweaked interior with additional features, and more.
The overall silhouette of the SUV remains the same; however, it now gets a completely reworked front and rear end. Up front, it now features a redesigned grille with chrome accents, slimmer headlamps, and a new LED DRL signature that extends across the grille. The lower section gets a fresh skid plate, while the bumper adopts a honeycomb-style design. Changes along the sides are subtle, limited to newly designed 17-inch alloy wheels and thicker black cladding that enhances the SUV’s road presence. At rear, it gets a redesigned tailgate with new connecting LED taillights and a glowing ‘SKODA’ lettering. Other highlights include a shark fin antenna, silver skid plate, rear wiper with washer, roof rails, integrated spoiler and more.Mechanically, there are no changes; it continues to get two engine options – a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbo petrol with 115 hp and 175 nm torque. Another engine is a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo diesel with 150 hp and 250 nm. Gearbox options include only a 7-speed DSG for the 1.5. The smaller 1.0-litre gets a 6-speed manual, along with a new 8-speed torque converter auto which replaces the 6-speed torque converter auto.Nissan Gravite The fifth model on the list is Nissan Gravite. Built on the CMF-A+ architecture shared with the Renault Triber, the Nissan Gravite marks the brand’s entry into India’s compact MPV segment. The Nissan Gravite is expected to be priced from Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom). Pre-bookings are expected to begin soon, and deliveries will start sometime after the price announcement. When launched, the new Gravite will directly compete with the Renault Triber.Talking about the engine first, the Nissan Gravite will be powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, NA petrol engine with 72hp and 96Nm of torque. Gearbox options will include a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT. Nissan may also introduce a CNG option, likely as a dealer-level fitment. On the safety front, the upcoming Gravite is expected to come with six airbags as standard across all variants. Additional safety features will include Electronic Stability Program, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, ISOFIX mounts for child seats, and front parking sensors.Design-wise, the overall silhouette of the Nissan Gravite will be similar to the Renault Triber. Up front, it gets a version of the brand’s V-Motion grille, reworked headlamps and prominent ‘GRAVITE’ badging on the bonnet. Changes at the rear include revised tail-lamps and updated bumpers, while it will also feature a different wheel design. On the feature front, it’s expected to get a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, automatic LED headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, push-button start, wireless phone charging, a cooled glove box, cruise control and more.
