UPCA chief curator passes away

Kanpur: Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) chief curator Shiv Kumar passed away due to cardiac arrest on Tuesday evening in Kanpur. UPCA official Ahmad Ali Khan Talib said that Shiv Kumar suffered a cardiac problem around 4pm while he was engaged in preparations of the wicket for the upcoming Under-23 cricket tournament match in the city. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, from where doctors referred him to a cardiology institute. However, he breathed his last at the gate of the cardiology institute.His wife and son, at present living in Pune, have been informed. His cremation will be performed in Bareilly on Wednesday. The UPCA officials and members of the cricket fraternity expressed deep grief over his demise and paid rich tributes, remembering his dedicated service to cricket in the state.
