In his meeting with Gan Kim Yong, the CM highlighted UP’s pro-business environment, detailing the availability of land and its improving connectivity, especially with the opening of the Noida International Airport in the coming days. They discussed the possibility of companies from Singapore establishing industrial townships in the Delhi-NCR region, which would focus on semiconductor manufacturing and green hydrogen modules.During his conversation with K Shanmugam, the CM underlined the improvement in law and order in UP, helped by modernisation of the policing system, and discussed Singapore’s own technology-integrated policing model and disaster management protocols.Inviting Singapore’s business community to invest in UP, Yogi spoke about the state’s logistics and data centre sectors, while assuring them that simplified regulatory processes and a single window clearance system played a crucial role in the completion of major projects in UP.Invest UP team also signed an MoU with Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE) for collaboration on thematic knowledge exchange, technical cooperation and advisory services to accelerate sustainable economic growth, industrial competitiveness, digital transformation and the development of modern infrastructure in UP.In a joint statement issued by the two parties, they said they will organise study visits and leadership delegations, while also designing and implementing training and capacity building programmes The MOU also provides for advisory and guidance support, jointly preparing and implementing technical cooperation projects, and securing collaboration from stakeholders and institutions from both govt and private sectors.A senior official said that if needed, separate written agreements could be executed for specific projects, with details about the scope of work, timelines and financial provisions. Discussions on detailed project agreements will begin within two months, with an effort to finalise them within six months.“Through this partnership, UP will benefit from Singapore’s experience in areas such as administrative practices, urban planning, industrial cluster development, logistics and digital governance,” said an official.
