UP Board: 4,611 students absent on Day 1 of exams

Kanpur: As many as 4,611 students of high school and Intermediate exams remained absent on day one of the UP Board examinations, in Kanpur on Wednesday.One external centre administrator, a static magistrate were also found absent from their duties. The district inspector of schools issued them notices and sought explanations for their absence within one day. If they failed to submit their explanation in stipulated time then action under UP Public Examination ( Redressal unfair means) Act 2024 will be taken against them.DIOS Santosh Kumar Rai said that Hindi and elementary Hindi exam of high school was scheduled in the morning shift on Wednesdy. As many as 46,159 examinees were registered of which 43,667 appeared for the paper while 2,492 skipped the exam. Similarly, in the second shift Hindi and general Hindi examination for intermediate conducted. A total of 42,984 examinees out of registered 45,103 were present while 2,119 skipped the exam.The DIOS informed that Moni Devi of APB Balika Vidyalaya appointed as external centre administrator and Krishna Kumar instructure ITI Pandu Nagar appointed as static magistrate were absent from their duties.UP board examinations are being conducted at 124 centres in the district and all centres were equipped with CCTV cameras. Supervision teams were in active mode at GIC Chunniganj offline centre. As many as 9 zonal manager, 16 sector, 124 static magistrate and flying squad have been assigned the task to supervise the examination.
