Officials said that, in the second phase, only the railway overbridge section and the stretch from Daliganj to Pakka Pul took time and were to be completed by May 2026. The first phase of the Green Corridor, from Basantkunj to Pakka Pul, is already operational. The second phase, from Pakka Pul to Samta Mulak crossing, is in its final stage, with major stretches almost ready. Officials said preparations are underway for the inauguration of select completed sections, likely in Feb. With initial stretches nearing completion, focus has now shifted to phase 3, which is expected to bring visible relief at some of the city’s most congested junctions. A flyover was proposed from Baikunth Dham to La Martiniere Boys’ College to ease traffic pressure at the 1090 crossing. The elevated stretch is designed to allow traffic to bypass the junction, cutting waiting time during peak hours, and reducing frequent snarls. Additionally, this phase will have a 2.20 km flyover linking the Green Corridor to the G-20 Road. Officials said the link will improve access to Shaheed Path and Kisan Path, which currently handle a large volume of long-distance and freight traffic. While these outer corridors are functional, the lack of smooth inner-city connectivity remains a persistent concern for daily commuters.
