Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation standing committee on Wednesday appointed the UNM Foundation to plan and design the service lanes flanking SG Road for the state govt’s project to develop the road’s length from Sanathal Circle to Gandhinagar (J-7). The foundation will handle the task at zero cost. Standing committee chairman Devang Dani said, “UNM Foundation was appointed for the planning and design work related to the development of SG Road from Sanathal Circle to Gandhinagar (J-7 Circle) that passes through AMC, Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation, Guda and Auda areas. “For this, the state govt formed the Gujarat Urban Infrastructure Development Company. A preliminary survey for planning and designing to develop the service roads on both sides of the road passing through AMC jurisdiction was assigned to Parekh Associates.”He added that subject expertise is required for the development of the entire road. “Consultants with experience in landscaping, garden development, and beautification, as well as survey agencies, will be appointed by UNM Foundation for zero cost, meaning all consultancy fees will be completely covered by the foundation.” tnn
