At the 56th Annual Koch Conference, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma celebrated the rich tapestry of cultures in Garo Hills, praising their vital role in the region’s development. He highlighted how unity amid diversity fortifies the community’s resilience, reinforcing the government’s pledge to champion inclusivity and respect for every cultural and religious entity within the state and beyond.
Shillong: CM Conrad K Sangma has said every community has contributed to the growth and development of the Garo Hill region while keeping the larger interests of the state at the forefront.Highlighting the rich diversity of Garo Hills, he said the region is home to multiple communities with distinct cultures, traditions and religions.
“In spite of our diversity, we belong to the same state and the same country, and this unity in diversity is our greatest strength,” he said, reiterating that the govt has always followed an inclusive approach and remains committed to respecting and supporting all communities.The CM was speaking at the closing ceremony of the 56th Annual Koch Conference at Belbari in South West Garo Hills district on Saturday.
