Udyam Registration is a government initiative for the recognition and promotion of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in India. It replaced the earlier Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM) system and is managed by the Ministry of MSME.

To register under Udyam, an enterprise must fall under the following investment and turnover limits:

📌 Udyam Registration Process (Online)

The registration is free, fully online, and Aadhaar-based. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Visit the Official Portal

Step 2: Select Registration Type

  • New Registration: For first-time applicants.

  • Update/Re-register: For existing UAM holders (migrate to Udyam).

Step 3: Enter Aadhaar & PAN Details

  • Provide Aadhaar number of the business owner (Proprietor/Partner/Director).

  • Enter PAN (mandatory for companies/LLPs, optional for proprietorships).

Step 4: Fill Business Details

  • Business name, type (Proprietorship/Partnership/Company/etc.), address, NIC code, bank details.

  • Number of employees, investment, and turnover details.

Step 5: Submit & Get Udyam Registration Number

  • After verification, an Udyam Registration Certificate (with a unique Udyam Registration Number – URN) is issued.
