U-23 CK Nayudu Trophy: Raj Sharma scores unbeaten hundred as Rajasthan-Odisha match ends in a draw

Jaipur: Rajasthan’s Raj Sharma struck a brilliant unbeaten century against Odisha as the four-day Col CK Nayudu U-23 Trophy Elite match ended in a draw at the KL Saini Stadium here on Monday.At the close of play on the final day, Rajasthan finished with 232 for the loss of 5 wickets in their second innings, thanks to a brilliant hundred from Raj Sharma. Odisha bowler Soumya Ranjan took 2/31.

Raj remained unbeaten on 101 runs (158 balls, 10 fours and 2 sixes), while all-rounder Ganesh Suthar contributed 77 runs. Meanwhile, centurion Raj became the first batsman to score 2000 runs for Rajasthan in the U-23 CK Nayudu Trophy. Raj achieved this feat by scoring 8 centuries in his 25 matches. Rajasthan’s Karan Lamba 1569 (24 matches) and Sumit Godara 1460 (15 matches) are the other successful batsmen in the U-23 Trophy. Rajasthan’s next match will be against Vidarbha in Nagpur from February 6.
