Lucknow: Two teenage students on their way to a coaching centre were killed after their motorcycle was hit by a speeding pickup truck in Gonda on Monday morning, police said.The accident took place around 8.30 am on the Khargupur-Itiyathok road near Deoria Kala-Pipra in Gonda.The deceased were identified as Vipin Maurya, 15, a Class 10 student, and Aman, 14, a Class 9 student. Both were residents of Bhatt Purwa village and routinely travelled together on the same motorcycle to attend coaching classes at Pipra Bodhar.According to police, the pickup truck collided with their motorcycle near the village. The impact threw both onto the road, leaving them critically injured. Locals rushed to the spot and informed the police. Their families also reached the scene and took them to Community Health Centre (CHC), Khargupur, where doctors declared them dead.Aman was second among three brothers, while Vipin was the younger of two brothers. Their families depend largely on farming and daily-wage labour for their livelihood.Khargupur station house officer, Rajesh Tiwari, said the pickup involved in the accident had been seized and the driver detained.He added that the bodies were sent for postmortem and further probe was on.
