Prayagraj: Two minors were killed and seven others were injured in three separate road accidents in Naini and Koraon areas on Monday, police said.In Naini case, a 10-year-old girl was mowed down by a speeding dumper near Bethany Convent School, on Monday morning while she was going to school, police said.
Irked over the accident, kin of the deceased, locals and other guardians blocked vehicular movement on the busy Prayagraj Mirzapur Road. A team from Naini police pacified the agitators and sent the body for postmortem. Police said the girl’s maternal uncle was taking her to school when his bike apparently skidded and she fell on the road. Before anyone could react, a speeding dumper coming behind mowed her down resulting in her death on the spot. The dumper driver managed to escape after parking the vehicle a few metres away. In a separate case, a 16-year-old high school student was killed while two others were injured when the bike in which they were travelling was hit by a speeding dumper near Sikro village in Koraon police station area on Monday. The trio was going to appear in their exam when the accident took place. In another case, five students going to appear in a high school exam suffered injuries after the bus carrying them collided with a speeding truck near Beruai village on Monday. The injured were undergoing treatment at a local hospital and were stable.
