Dhubri: A two-day Kisan Mela jointly organised by Dhubri district agriculture department and the Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) started on Monday.The mela features 20 exhibits, bringing together govt departments, agri-based business organisations, farmer-producer companies, technology equipment vendors, nurseries, enterprises and progressive farmers.
The event was inaugurated by chief executive officer Dhruba Jyoti Das and additional district commissioner (agriculture) Ripon Jyoti Nath.Dhubri agriculture officer Azim Ahmed told TOI that the two-day programme would help farmers improve productivity.“In the interaction session, farmers learn many a new technologies in the fields of agriculture, fisheries, veterinary and animal husbandry from resource persons and scientists taking part in this Kisan Mela,” Ahmed said.
