Kanpur: Three people, including two brothers, were killed and another was injured after their car lost control and fell into the Ramganga canal in Rasoolabad town of Kanpur Dehat on Friday afternoon.Two of the three deceased were identified as Rakesh Srivastava (54) and his brother Radhesh (42), while the identity of the car driver could not be ascertained. The injured was identified as Abhishek (26), son of Rakesh. All of them were residents of Bahraich Road, Gonda.

According to reports, tent house operator Rakesh and family had booked a car to visit Akodhiya village in the Rasoolabad area of Kanpur Dehat to attend a mundan ceremony organised at his maternal cousin’s house.

The accident took place when they were returning to Gonda after the ceremony.As their car reached Oriya village, the car suddenly went out of control and fell into the canal. Hearing a loud sound, villagers rushed to the spot and started rescue work. After much effort, the villagers managed to pull out Abhishek from the canal. However, Rajesh, Radhesh, and the car driver could not be saved.Police and administrative officials reached the spot after receiving information and sent the bodies for post-mortem. ASP Rajesh Pandey said Abhishek is out of danger.
